Huanghuacheng Water Great Wall (黄花城水长城) is situated 29 km northwest of Chengguan township of Huairou dist and is about 60 km away from the center of Beijing. The amazing scenery of this section of the Great Wall is that this section is connected to waters and mountains. In the mid-summer the sheds and houses of this area will submerge under the yellow flowers surrounding this area. Therefore, it was given this name. Huanghua means yellow flower, and Cheng means city.

This section of the Great Wall is not only famous today but was well-known during the Yuan Dynasty in ancient China. The difference is it was an important military fortress that time but becomes a tourist attract today. The full length of this section is as long as 10,800 meters, consisting of multiple towers and passes, among which the “Eighteenth Pedal” is the more stunning spot of the Water Great Wall.
