The Dadong restaurant sells itself on being the only restaurant that serves Peking duck with all the flavors of the classic imperial dish, but none of the fat - the leanest roast duck in the capital. Some consider it hideously overpriced and far from authentic, while others think it an impressive roast duck restaurant in Beijing.

There are seven branches in Beijing: this one, by the Regent hotel, and another housed in part of the former Imperial Granaries are the most central. All are equally classy establishments. Note, it’s not the roast duck that will necessarily break the bank; it’s the other dishes, delicious though they are. Eating at this restaurant, you need to wisely order food.
