The newly opened Sense Spa at Rosewood Beijing has just raised the bar for luxury hotel spas in this city. From the stunning interiors of the treatment rooms to the warm and friendly service provided by our massage therapist, we’re hard-pressed to remember when we’ve had such a relaxing spa day. We started with the sea scrub which evened out our flakey skin with a series of solid strokes.

After lounging in the steam room, we washed off the scrub residue and then tried the candle massage. Our therapist concentrated on our troublesome neck and back region, kneading the warm wax onto knotty areas, while we inhaled the lavender notes wafting through the air.

If you have the chance, book a spa suite—you (and presumably, your partner) will be able to immediately nod off to sleep.
