The High School Affiliated to Renmin University of China (commonly abbreviated as RDFZ), is a high school under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Education and one of the first batch of Beijing municipal model schools. Founded in April, 1950, RDFZ is situated in the heart of Zhongguancun Hi-tech Park of Beijing. Adjacent to Peking University, Tsinghua University, Renmin University of China and the Chinese Academy of Sciences, RDFZ is blessed with an advantage in cultural geography and enjoys a favorable scientific and cultural atmosphere. With an area of 142 mu, RDFZ has the name of “garden campus” with its beautiful environment.

Over the years, RDFZ has won numerous honorable titles from the Ministry of Education and Beijing Municipal Government.
Promoting quality education in an all-round way, RDFZ strives to provide the type of education suitable for the development of each student. The school provides a comprehensive and sophisticated curriculum system, covering eight categories of languages and literature, math, humanities and society, sciences, technologies, arts, sports and health as well as comprehensive social practices. Besides the state designated compulsory and elective courses, RDFZ provides rich and diversified school-based courses, including compulsory ones such as Psychological Health, Invention and Creation, Modern Teenagers. Among the 200 school-based and college elective courses, a number of subjects are offered in English and 10 foreign language courses include English, French, German, Japanese, Korean, Russian, Spanish, Italian, Finnish, and Arabian. The school boasts a Sango Soccer Club aiming to foster national football talents with the “Sangao Spirit”, namely, high moral character, high cultural quality and high sports level. RDFZ Youth League Committee, spiritual homeland for the school’s young teachers and students, consists of four organizations, namely, Youth League Branch for young teachers and administrative staff, Students’ Union, Youth League Committee for Students and Students Council. Centering around the task of fostering integrity, RDFZ Youth League Committee launches more than 60 activities every year, among which RDFZ Volunteers Group, Student Film Festival, Musical Carnival and Lectures on Human Life have been developed into campus cultural brands, enjoying wide acclaim in and outside China. There are 115 student clubs under the Students’ Union, covering four fields in public service, scientific innovation, humanities and social sciences as well as sports and arts.
