To overcome the difficulty in taking a taxi, Beijing has built a platform of taxi booking service, with 96106 as the hotline number. With a capacity of 100 thousand cars, the dispatching center system has untill now registered 30,000 taxis from over 114 taxi companies, such as Shou Qi Group, BAIC, United Cresent Co., Ltd, Wanquansi and Jingchenglian car companies. Apart from calling the hotline, you can also install the 96106 App on your handsets which is equally convenient.

After calling the hotline, you will receive a SMS sent by the platform with the plate number of the taxi (or without if your booking failed) in 20 minutes. It is suggested that you call the hotline 4 hours in advance.

If you call the hotline at the taxi stand, all you need is to provide the serial number of the stand according to which the dispatching center can locate your position and then dispatch the taxi.

There are now l65 taxi stands most of which are located in Dongcheng and Xicheng districts, and by the end of 2013, 435 more taxi stands will be set up in the districts of Chaoyang, Haidian, Fengtai, and Shijingshan.

Tips:

1. Booking Service Charge: 5 Yuan (if you book a taxi within 4 hours); 6 Yuan (over 4 hours)

2. The taxi will wait at most 10 minutes if it arrives on time.

3. The platform provides 24-hour service. The taxi will reach your position (within the 5th Ring Road) in 15 minutes if traffic condition permits.
