Features: Yunmengshan is known as "Little Huangshan Mountain in Beijing". The main peak has the elevation of 1,414 meters, and the peak down there lies seven main grooves, as well as dozens of tributaries. Yunmeng Mountain-Yunmeng Gorge is a classic route winding through the long mountain road with featured landscapes in all four seasons. It’s regarded as the most essential route nearby.
Introduction: Starts from Shuidaoyu Bridge, 1 or 2 km north of the entrance of Huairou Yunmengshan National Forest Park. Then walk alongside the east side of 111 National Road down to the dirt road under the bridge. Then go towards the east deep into Yunmengshan Park along the stream, pass by Guiguzi Village, Huxue Pond, Huaigu Stone Cabin, etc. Keep in mind to pay attention to a fork where there is a signleading to Lotus Waterfall. Take the right-hand lane, and turn over the mountain ridge to Wansuiyang, then pass through a narrow valley to reach the top of the Lotus Waterfall, where 3 to 5 tents can be put up. Then go down the mountain from the side of the road besides the waterfall and then enters Yunmeng Gorge.
