Tanzhe Temple, named because of Long Tan (Dragon Pool literally) at the back of the temple and silkworm thorn tree in front, was established over 1,600 years ago in the Western Jin Dynasty. It is regarded as the oldest temple in Beijing. A saying goes that Beijing is built after the completion ofTanzhe Temple. Ten views of Tanzhe Temple is well-known to tourists.
