Li Qi Painting and Calligraphy Exhibition

Li Qi Painting and Calligraphy Exhibition

2014-11-12

Chinese artist Li Qi is about to hold his solo art show at the National Art Museum of China November 29 - December 11, 2014.

The exhibition will display over 30 pieces of calligraphy and landscape painting of Chinese calligrapher and painter Mr. Li Qi. Li Qi’s paintings are landscape with Taihang strength of character. With preface, postscript and poems on painting to present his calligraphy skill, Li Qi’s works have established a unique style of perfectly combining painting with calligraphy.

Li Qi’s appearance will always call up Tengger, the famous singer from Inner Mongolia, and he also often raises his voice to sing a song when in high spirit. Of course, Li Qi is not a singer but art in nature is connected. The natural and unrestrained style in singing shapes the soul and personality of the artist. Actually, Li Qi’s calligraphy and painting art is no doubt like singing heartily in brush and ink language. Li Qi often writes poems to express low-spirit emotion, which is not a mood of lasting affection of boys and girls but a kind of heavy-hearted feeling full of grandeur, which is lofty aspiration that aims high but difficult to fulfill, like what is described in Chen Ziang’s poem “neither ancient people before nor followers. The sky and earth forever last, but I am alone with tears down”.
