To demonstrate the extraordinary splendor of silk painting, the National Art Museum of China decides to house a theme exhibition from May 16 through 23, 2014.

Painting on silk are those classical Chinese paintings painted on yarn, crepe, satin, silk surface fabrics. They have had a history of three thousand years from the Shang and Zhou dynasties. Painting on silk is an ancient original independent painting type of China and the national treasure of China.

This exhibition will present to the world painting on silk, the treasure of China and to make more people realized that there are not only ink and wash painting, but also painting on silk with a longer history of flowing light and color, which is revitalizing and regain its glory.

Wang Wenzhang, the former deputy minister of Ministry of Culture, president of Chinese National Academy of Arts once said: "Today, through his study and exploration, Mr. Mu Yilin has revived this art and given it a new life".
