Located close to the Confucius and Lama Temples, Xu Xiang Zhai Vegetarian Restaurant offers a broad-ranging vegetarian buffet featuring mock meats, tofu, vegetables, sushi, soups, porridge, fresh fruits and dessert.

It is decorated in an antique style and is very special and elegant. The dishes are cooked with a meat-like style by using vegetarian ingredients. The appearance is quite vivid and the taste is great. There is a buffet service and a direct ordering service for the dishes. The ingredients are all fresh, organic and very healthy. The environment is quiet and is very suitable for friends gathering, dating, family parties or other events. There is also free parking and a credit card facility is provided.
Eating here is worth it only if you arrive as soon as the buffet opens, when the vegetables are still crisp and the mock meats moist. The dining room is clean and the non-smoking environment is a plus.

The buffet spread is a good value at just RMB 78 per person. An à la carte menu is available but the real deal is the buffet at 58 RMB per person; both include water, tea and coffee. Hot mushroom dishes are especially good, as is the black rice with ginseng soup. There’s even a Sichuan style shuizhuyu made with mock fish. Individual hot pot is especially popular.
