Feiteng Yuxiang serves up what is considered the most famous spicy boiled fish in Beijing. It has a genuine peppery taste and the fish has a crispy outside and tender inside.
Known for its shuizhuyu (spicy boiled fish), this chain of Sichuan restaurants attracts a crowd of predominately white collar professionals. Aside from their signature dish, the extensive menu includes a range of spicy Sichuan favorites: lazi ji (spicy diced chicken), shuizhu qingwa (spicy boiled frog), xiang la xie (spicy crab) and mapo dofu (spicy bean curd).
Spicy boiled fish originated in Sichuan, using live fish, and cooked in different ways, Feiteng Yuxiang uses the authentic Chongqing flavor as a foundation for their fish, and then reduces its spiciness so that more customers can enjoy its delicious taste. It's spicy but not too dry; numbing but not painfully hot.

This Sichuan chain is popular among locals and foreigners for its authentic tastes. The star dish is the shuizhuyu, which is served tender and juicy and soaked in chili peppers. The poached bullfrog is another house specialty.
