Before talk about the elegant building, let’s study the owner of this building, Duan Qirui, a legend person. Duan was a Chinese warlord and politician, commander in the Beiyang Army, and the Provisional Chief Executive of Republic of China from November 24, 1924 to April 20, 1926. He was arguably the most powerful man in China from 1916 to 1920. Such powerful man is a vegetarian and has a "Buddhist inclination".

Duan Qirui Government, located on No. 3 Zhangzizhong Road which was called Iron Lion Hutong. The Government Building was a prince palace, and after the Qing Dynasty ended, the buildings in the palace were removed and rebuilt in European loft style. In the Qing Dynasty, the Army Department and Navy Department shared this building and then became the President Hall.

Part of the buildings now is residential area, you can find lovely dogs and lazy cats. Want to kill time? It can serve you a quite and nice afternoon.

Tip: By subway, Zhangzizhong Lu Station Exit A, and go west around 50m, a huge gate with 2 lions standing besides.
