Tai Hing's Roast Meat Delicacies

Tai Hing's Roast Meat Delicacies

Beijing certainly has a great number of advantages when it comes to cuisine. As the nation’s capital, it attracts a wide array of cuisines not only from different regions in China, but also from around the world. One particularly delicious but lacking option is the roast meat specialties from Hong Kong. Luckily, Tai Hing fills that void, bringing a taste of Hong Kong to Beijing.

Tai Hing has six branches around the city, with locations inWangfujing(The shops at NewOriental Plazaand theAPMMall), Dongzhimen, Sanyuanqiao and more. What’s great about Tai Hing is that they offer many of the signature items from their original restaurants in Hong Kong such as Iced Milk Tea that arrives in a bowl of ice cubes to keep the drink cold but not watered down, pineapple bun, and of course the roasted meats (roasted duck, BBQ beef and roasted pork). Of course, some of the more familiar Hong Kong dishes are unavailable, but the Beijing iteration has catered to local tastes and offer some other tasty eats.

In Hong Kong, Tai Hing is a mid-level restaurant meaning that it is considered a step above neighborhood noodle shops, but certainly not a fancy restaurant. Beijing’s Tai Hing restaurants are pricier compared to the Hong Kong restaurants, but the decor and service reflect the higher costs. When eating at Tai Hing, do make sure to try the Iced Milk Tea and at least a couple of traditional roast meats. Beijing may be far from Hong Kong, but at least you can have a taste of it and not feel disappointed.
