Tan Lihua is an excellent conductor active in today's music circle of China. He has successful collaborations with international orchestras as London Philharmonic, Royal Philharmonic, Israel Philharmonic, etc., and domestic major orchestras like China National Symphony, China Philharmonic, Shanghai Symphony and more. In the 2000-2001 Season, Tan served as resident conductor of the Russian State Symphony Orchestra.
As one of the most active violinists today, Lu Siqing is the first Asian violinist to win the first prize at the prestigious Paganini International Violin Competition in Italy in 1987. Hailed by Strad as 'an outstanding talent', Siqing is acknowledged one of the most outstanding Chinese violinists of his generation.

Praised as "The Orchestral Pearl of the Capital of China," the Beijing Symphony Orchestra (BSO) was established in October 1977, and is a focal point of musical art, performance and culture in China today. The BSO has known worldwide for its impeccable standards, as well as for the depth of its western and Chinese repertoire.
