The next time you fly out of Beijing Capital International Airport, consider doing some last-minute shopping for your friends. There are many great stores, especially at Terminal 3, that carry Beijing specialty goods. We’ll discuss what you can buy next.
Duty-free stores located inside the airport terminals will stock cigarettes, alcohol, candy, and other goods that are pretty cheap. It’s here where you can pick up a carton of genuine cigarettes for the lowest prices. Also, alcohol is much more inexpensive here compared to other places in Beijing. If you’re buying for friends, consider that it’s easiest this way because you can do it easily and cheaply. Be warned though, there is a limit to how many duty-free items each passenger may purchase. Be ready to give your flight information at checkout and sometimes you can have your purchase checked in to your flight.
Other goods you may purchase at the airport are brand name cosmetics, watches, sunglasses, luxury clothing, accessories, and more. These prices are often less a little less than what you’d pay at a shopping mall, plus, there are no duties, of course. Unique to Beijing, there are shops like the NLGX Design Store in Terminal 3, Quanjude Roast Duck, Beijing’sTongrentangpharmacy, and more.
If you decide that you don’t want to carry your purchase with you to your destination, you may arrange to have it delivered to an address in Beijing or have it stored until you return. If you decide to purchase some things and you think it’s too much, the shop assistant will have your purchased checked in and delivered to your boarding gate.
