JD Global is the international website of JD.com, a successful online retailer in China, and especially successful in Beijing. It has announced that book orders of over $49 will include free international delivery. This is great news for overseas Chinese and foreigners who have grown to love this online retailer while living in China.

JD Global offers its international customers over 850,000 items, including over 800,000 book titles. Products on offer include Chinese books and media, electronics, apparel, home and garden products, and more. This news coincides with JD.com announcing that its company has reached net profits for the first three quarters of 2013.

International shipping to addresses in the U.S. are estimated to take from 7-12 days from its China warehouses. Most of the products it sells are made in China. Although this policy is currently offered only for books, it’s a step in the right direction for overseas Chinese in search for Chinese book titles and foreigners interested in Chinese literature.
