In honor of the 120th anniversary of the birth of Comrade Mao Zedong, and to promote the patriotic spirit of the Chinese Dream, a large multi-media stage play namedMao Anying(also known asMao Zedong and His Eldest Son), will be performed at the Theatre House of the NCPA.
Adapted and created in accordance with the hot TV series named Mao Anying from CCTV-1, it presents the lifetime events of Mao Anying from when he was born to when he lost his life, including courageous fights and heroic death. The play presents his study, work, love, battle experiences and family life over his short life, exquisitely showing the deep father-and-son connection between Mao Zedong and Mao Anying, and the beautiful family affections of Mao Anying with Yang Kaihui, the mother, Liu Songlin, the wife, Mao Anqing, the brother and with other families.

The play also presents the responsibilities borne by and the choices made by Mao Anying, as the son of a great man, over conflicts of family and nation, and of love and dream. The theme of the play profoundly praises the patriotic spirit and the revolutionary idealist spirit of the young generation under the specific situation during that specific period.
