Sophiline Cheam Shaipro, a Cambodian dancer, choreographer, and vocalist created the Sophiline Arts Ensemble which combined new concepts and energies with traditional Cambodian classic art forms.
Sophiline was among the first graduates from the School of Fine Arts after the fall of Pol Pot’s Khmer Rouge regime, and taught dancing there from 1988 through 1991. Then she went to UCLA studing Ethnology of Dance. Her works have been extensively performed at art festivals and venues all over the world.

Dedicated to reviving classical Combodian dance and promoting it worldwide, the Sophiline Arts Ensemble mainly performs original dances. During MOMA Post Mountain Music-Art Festival 2013, the dancers will perform classical Khmer music and dance in the first half, andA Bend in the River, the first new music for pin peat ensemble in modern history by composer Him Sophy, in the second half.
