Located on Gongti North Road, the look and feel of Touch Beijing immediately seems uniform: A dimly-lit sea of rich, comfortable leather couches offset by the bright lighting of the stage and its impressive white grand piano, hugged on one side by a red-and-black bar and on the other by outdoor seating. George and his design team have pulled off an incredible feat, however, as they have managed to marry three different types of flooring, ornate paintings of fox hunts and a Hollywood tungsten light into one cohesive vibe.

The lounge bar has only been opened a short while, but so far the clientele seems to skew towards young, casually-dressed Chinese entrepreneur types and their friends, happy to nurse a cocktail and sit in front of a spectacularly fake fireplace for a couple of hours. The cocktails, as befits the menu of one of the city's best mixologists, are expertly made, though you might have to wait for one. Stand-outs include their Raspberry Thyme, from their RMB90 Special Cocktail list, and a perfectly mixed Negroni (RMB80).
