Museum of Ancient Pottery Civilization

Near the Beijing Da-Guan Garden stands a tranquil and original museum-the Museum of Ancient Pottery Civilization. It is one of the first batches of privately run museums.

The Museum of Ancient Pottery Civilization is specialized in pottery culture. The culture relics it preserves are conprised of three series: over 100 ancient painted potteries of Neolithic Age and potteries of the Zhou, Qin and Han Dynasties; over 300 tiles with a circular facade of the Warring States period and Qin and Han Dynasties; and over 1,000 lutes of the Qin and Han Dynasties and about 3,000 ancient potteries of other fields.

All these relics form a nearly complete and vivid history of pottery civilization. Many of the relics are of 4R grade, among which the lutes of the Qin Dynasty can be seen as the first collection of government official names and geography records of China's united feudal kingdoms, and the source and files of China's generations of government systems.

The museum displays nearly 600 relics, which are divided into four parts: "painted pottery nest", "tiles panorama" "rare lutes", and "series of ancient potteries". Displayed together with these relics, there is the series of multiple artistic languages of Lu Dongzhi.
