Summer temperatures are finally starting to engulf the country which means it’s time to start flashing your summer accessories. If you’re wondering where to buy inexpensive designer-knock off sunglasses, then look no further than Taobao! If you’ve read my previous blogs, you’ll surely have noticed that I’m an avid Taobao shopper since I figured out how to pay for stuff online as a foreigner. Now, I just browse and buy what I like at the click of a button, and 90% of the time I’ve been really happy with the results.
I tend to get frustrated when I shop for sunglasses at the fake markets here in China. The styles are never that exciting and many of them visibly look cheap. That’s where Taobao can help! I discovered that there are hundreds of online shops selling a wide range of sunglasses styles that are better quality and quirkier than the stuff you’ll find at markets. So, here are a couple of my favorites!
1. Pinkyjiajia
I love the vintage styles available at this store. You can find all sorts of quirky styles at this shop, from novelty party sunglasses to aviators to Ray-Ban-style wayfarer glasses to vintage cat-eyes to oversized Jackie-Os. Prices are generally in the 20-30 RMB price range. I’ve bought from this store before and was happy with the speed of delivery and product quality.

2. Kingland
This store sells fashion sunglasses destined for export to such chains as Mango, ASOS and H&M. The store sells a youthful range of styles (think floral and neon colored frames) perfect for those who buy accessories at the fashion brands mentioned above. Prices range from 10-50 RMB.

3. Glasses King
This store is one of the most popular shops specializing in sunglasses on Taobao. Their collection features everything from cheap fashion sunglasses for around 20 RMB to “designer” brands such as Hermes and Mercedes for 150 RMB. The store sells glasses for men and women, though the collection for women is significantly larger.

4. Newglasses83
Those into buying designer knock-offs should check out this store. Their collection features a wide range of designer-brand styles such as Tom Ford, Gucci, Dior, Mont Blanc, Chanel, Cartier and Bvlgari. Of course at around 120 RMB per pair, don’t expect these to be the real deal!
