The New CCTV Building is located east of the Third Ring Road, north of Guanghua Road, south of Chaoyang Road, and within the scope of the CBD. CCTV’s New Building takes up a total land area of 187, 000 square meters and has a total construction area of 550,000 square meters. Its top height is 230 meters and it cost a total of about 5 billion RMB. The New CCTV Tower used plans from the Netherlands architecture group OMA. Experts believed this design would not only establish an iconic image representing CCTV, but would also open a new page in Chinese architecture.
