Bus:46、414、609 to Maliandaoxili stop

Not far south from Beijing West station is Maliandao, “Beijing’s First Tea Street”. The street is 1500 meters long and has over 100 tea stores and five tea shopping plazas, which bring together teas from Zhejiang, Fujian, Anhui, Yunnan, Guizhou and other high quality tea products from China’s famous tea-growing areas. With annual sales of 10 billion yuan, it accounts for one-tenth of the total sales of tea in China.

Before, Maliandao had only one tea processing plant. In the past few years, people from Fujian, Zhejiang, Yunnan, Anhui and other tea regions spotted an opportunity and opened shop on Maliandao, selling wholesale tea, and turning this area into a popular tea-buying destination. Even though it doesn’t have a long history (Maliandao has only recently developed into what it is today) it’s a huge place to buy tea. Not only is it the largest tea market in Beijing, it’s the largest tea distribution center in Northern China.
