Sanfo Outdoor is the most influential outdoor products chain store in Beijing. It has 17 retail stores selling all kinds of outdoor equipment including outdoor clothing, hiking clothing, camping tents, camping gear and etc.

Sanfo Outdoor Products Co., Ltd was started in May 1997 after the original founder, Zhang Heng, had backpacked to the western region of China. During his journey, he noticed the beginning stages of China's outdoor industry and shared with some foreigners his experience.

Eventually, that trip inspired him to establish a store committing to Sports, Happiness and Dreams. In March 1998, the first store opened at the east gate of Peking University. At that time, only very poor quality outdoor products were offered. Luckily, they grasped the opportunity and the market began to boom.

Sanfo is now the largest domestic retail store. By 2008, they have extended the business to 17 retail stores in Beijing, Shanghai and Wenzhou together with several franchise stores in other cities. They also offer direct sales on the Internet (www.sanfo.com), telephone and mail.
