The Babyface Club
Babyface-Beijing is pretty much in line with the decorative style of other fledgling branches, making guests feel at the centre of a stage, a flattering position for anybody and especially pleasing to movers and shakers who like to be in the spotlight.
The club's neon exterior makes it instantly recognizable. The interior is all bright neon tiles reflecting wall mirrors and sparkling ceiling beads. Tables containing neon strips and the club's flashing lights and tremendous speakers create a festive, high-energy environment.
Semi-private rooms surround the main area, and a number of cosy private rooms are available on the second floor. Private rooms should be reserved in advance, and those with foresight should also reserve regular tables if they don't want to be stuck standing on busier nights.
Music is the soul of Babyface. There are two ballrooms: the larger one mainly plays house music while the other tends to play hip hop sounds. Raymond said the club regularly selects the latest hot music from around the globe. With the opening of several new nightclubs at Gongti Ximen, he admits that the selections have influenced the business, but he insists on following certain principles in choosing music.
