The Beijing fixed gear bicycle group started when Ines Brunn and Ben Cheong first rode together. They had both brought their bikes from overseas. Years later, in 2008 the Beijing Fixed Gear group still had less than 10 riders. The group grew significantly in 2009 to at least 70 active urban cyclists.

The scene of fixed gear bike riders is now strongly growing in Beijing as well as other big cities in China, especially Shanghai, Shenzhen and Guangzhou.

Natooke arranges regular bike rides as well as events regarding fixed gear and single speed bicycles. The group meets almost every weekend for a fixed gear bike ride somewhere around flat Beijing city starting from the Natooke bike shop. Sometimes we do just a short afternoon ride but other times we arrange longer rides with lunch or dinner together.

In warm weather we meet on weekday evenings for urban night rides. And we also meet for fixed gear hang-outs and doing some tricks on bicycles like skidding, track standing and wheelies.

Our Beijing Fixed Gear club is free and open to anybody. We would like to share the fun we have on fixed gear bicycles with other people. So come and join us if you enjoy cycling and doing so with a group of city cyclists.
