Beijing’s Junefield SOGO Department Store

Beijing’s Junefield SOGO Department Store

2012-07-30

Open on June 24th 1998, Beijing’s Junefield Department Store which also goes by the acronym (SOGO) is a conglomeration of department stores in the city. With 80,000m2-odd, Beijing SOGO is the largest individual shopping mall for entertainment and leisure in Beijing.

Sogo is probably Beijing's most pleasant mall experience. The melange of hip Japanese goods and European goods (Sogo is a Japanese company) provide a great layout.

The reasonably price food court on the sixth floor make a trip around here far more fun than you expect from a shopping centre. Add in the espresso bars on each floor, and you’ve got a winner.

The Japanese have found the perfect shopping recipe: take a funky selection of Japanese and European boutiques, mix in an excellent food court with uncommonly good sushi and sprinkle an espresso bar on each floor. This is really one of best places to spend the weekend either for a movie or for leisure shopping.

For designer goods and high end products in the Xuanwu district, the Junefield Sogo Department Store carries several famous brands including Thomas Pink, Jean Paul Gaultier and Vivienne Westwood. Enjoy a break in between shopping at the indulgent food court or peruse the aisles of imported treats from the high end supermarket, Freshmart. There is also an entertainment arcade for the children on the sixth floor called SEGA World.
