The Da Zha Lan Tourist Shopping Center is located in the first pedestrian commercial street of Beijing, near the Da Zha Lan Shopping Street. A number of brands can be found here as the street is a miscellany street comprised both old and modern accoutrements.
The business area of the shopping centre is 1,800m2. Though it appears quite larger when you get there, you can still enjoy the elegant shopping environment and heartiness service in there. While sustaining Chinese traditional virtues is a part of the company’s lietmotif, promoting new century values and boosting tourism in the city is a new addendum to the program.
This codicil has indeed proven successful.Their commercial tourism and cultural services have built a window and a communicative channel that has cultivated and further spread the history of China’s culture.

To the northwest of Qianmen Street is Da Zha Lan, which is also a busy street in the Xuanwu District. The street was named as Lang Fang Si Tiao in the past.
It is 300 meters (328 yards) long but a bit narrow. Both sides of the street are crowded with stores which are busy with visitors coming and going every day. As a flourishing old street, there are many special time honored shops passed down from older generations. Tongrentang Chinese Herbal Medicine Pharmacy is just one example of what you can find there. It was opened in 1669 and is the most famous pharmacy for Chinese herbal medicine in the country.
Ruifuxiang Silk and Leather Store which started in 1893 offers all kinds of beautiful high quality silk. Da Shi Lar is also under reconstruction and will be open to the public by the end of this year.
Da Zha Lan originated in the Yuan Dynasty (1271-1368) and was finally built in the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) by local people, who put wooden fences at both ends of the street. In the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) and beyond, Da Zha Lan was enlarged and grew in prosperity day by day. Since then the hutong acquired its name: Da Zha Lan. . History favored Da Zha Lan, but wounded it at the same time.

The lane was burned down and repaired several times. In 1900, the fences suffered two fires. In the 1960s, it was upgraded for the first time, with the first asphalt road in Beijing. It became more convenient to development businesses there. In the 1990s, in order to win the title 'First Pedestrian Street of Beijing,' the fences were repaired once again. In 2000, iron fences were added by the Beijing municipal government. Little by little the street became a bustling attraction.
Although this commercial street has a history of more than 580 years, most of the ancient architecture is well preserved. Many famous old shops and time-honored brands in old Beijing still provide good products. There is a widespread saying in Beijing that if you want to watch sideshows, go on the over bridge; if you want to go shopping, Da Zha Lan is the place. Wearing the hats of Ma Ju Yuan, putting on the shoes of Nei Lian Sheng, owning the silk fabric of Rui Fu Xiang - these all make you part of the prosperous scene of this commercial street in old Beijing.

The lane was not only the commercial center of old Beijing, but also the center of entertainment. During the most prosperous time, there were five Beijing Opera theaters. In addition, the first cinema of Beijing, Da Guan Lou Cinema, is not far from the west entrance of Dashilar. The first film in China was shown in this cinema. It is an important witness to the development of China's movie industry.
Tips: 1. No motor vehicles or bicycles are allowed in this street. 2. There is no public toilet in this pedestrian street. Free toilets are provided at the west end of Da Zha Lan Street, outside the Xiaoqijia Hutong.
