One wouldn’t expect a member of the Black Eyed Peas to have a penchant for caviar, but local designer Candy Lin has seen her designs sported by none other than front man ‘will.i.am’.
Her initial collections focused mainly on outerwear with unisex sculpted coats, blazers and waistcoats, but her Autumn/Winter 2010 collection — showcased last month and celebrating the label’s two-year anniversary — has seen her designs for both menswear and womenswear really evolve.

Her brand new showroom, now open to the public, is a relaxed business and a cheaper alternative to the web store (which is priced in US dollars).
For all those aspiring Chuck Bass types, her menswear sports a modern preppy look, with its dress shirts (600RMB), handmade bow ties (500RMB) and blazers (1,500RMB). Her womenswear nods to Alexander McQueen and Jason Wu, with detailed miniskirts (650RMB) and bold, silk dresses (1,000RMB) reminiscent of the latter.
She has also joined forces with her former college USC for its Project 141 collaboration. For every cardigan sold (450RMB) she will be donating another of the same kind to an underprivileged child.
She works closely with the organization, and regularly returns to the States to oversee the project. Even the tags on the cardigans have been designed by the children.
