It is a very popular outing for families to pick strawberries during the Spring season. Strawberries seem to be one of the most popular activities in Beijing, as it allows people to be more in tuned to nature. Here at visit Beijing.com we decided to enlist all of the places around the city that would be good for strawberry picking
Northern Line: Picking strawberries and Climbing the Great Wall
The well known Changping area is often referred to as the back garden of Beijing and Xing Shou in the Changping area. It holds the largest strawberry base in Beijing. You don't quite know what a sea of strawberry looked like until you get there.
In Juanzi, strawberry picking is very popular. There is a special variety called the ‘Cameron Rosa,’ which is an imported flavor. Most of the strawberries which are sold in the mall are ripened. Because of low-cost planting, the prices are relatively lower. The strawberries which really rely on the natural growth are tasty, but because of the high price they can only be picked in the garden.
Tips:
Be sure to bring extra cash. Picking costs: 20-30 yuan and is measured by kg.
On certain days, you may be able to eat for free in the garden.
Transportation lines: From Tiantong Beiyuan take 537 to Xing Shou Strawberry Park, Then take taxi to Juanzi strawberry field.
