Marco Polo Bridge

The Marco polo Bridge, which is also called lugou Bridge in Chinese.”Lugouxiaoyue( 卢沟晓月, which means there is a beautiful moon above the Marco polo Bridge. It stands as one of many extraoodinary masterpieces of architecture that can found  in Beijing. Emperor Qianlong(乾隆) once came to the Marco Polo Bridge, saw the Yongding River(永定河)with a full moon reflected on it and made an inscription:卢沟晓月: "On every Mid- Autumn Day, special festivities always take place by the bridge as a means of celebrating its history." Its best to enjoy the scenery by the festive lanterns while admiring the moon.

Shichahai Lake

Shichahai Lake(什刹海) has its own beautiful,unique scenery. A famous essay written in ancient times says that in the Springtime, Shichahai is like the West Lake in Hangzhou Province.In the summer many believe it reminds them of the Qinghuai River in Nanjing and in autumn, the Dongting Lake in Hunan Province.

Yinding Bridge, a famous bridge that looms over Shichahai is high enough for you to admire the view of the moon and stars that hover above. If you want to paddle a boat on Shichahai Lake ona Mid-autumn Day, it’s best to book in advance.

Yuanmingyuan Park

Most Chinese people appreciate the lotus and the bright moon because they are clear and pure, and yet stillsymbolize good moral character. In many Chinese poems, the lotus and the moon are main images, so it is pleasant to see numerous hetangyuese(荷塘月色or moonlight in the lotus pond).In Yuanmingyuan Park, there is a big lotus pond. On any given Mid-autumn Day, it is the best place to immerse yourself ina picturesque moonlight with the lotus pond.

The kunyu River

The kunyu River(昆玉河)runs from the Kunming River near the summer palace to the Yuyuan Pond. Sitting in a boat along Kunyu River, you are certain to discover numerous attractions, including the Summer Palace, Changhe Bay, Shuguang Park, the CCTV tower and theChina Millennium Monument.

Yuetan Park

Yuetan Park is built in 1530 as a place for the emperors to worship the god of the moon and other stars. It is divided into two parts, the south park and the north park, with a total area of 8.12 hectares. The north park is mainly occupied by old architectures, while the south park is mainly taken up by ponds, rocks, and manmade hills.There are a lot of trees in Yuetan Park, such as pines, cypresses, phoenix trees, pomegranate trees, osmanthus trees and etc. It is a good place to enjoy the moon in autumn.
