Neiliansheng Shoe Store was founded in 1853 by Zhao Ting. At that time, Neiliansheng was the shoe store making shoes for officials. The Chinese character “Nei” stands for the government. “Liansheng” means “getting promotions”. Therefore many officials wear “Neiliansheng” shoes to pray for getting promotion. That is why the store got such a name. Neiliansheng shoe store is famous for its cloth shoes which are famous for their comfortability and durability. The store has won many awards in many competitions.

Currently, it is the largest hand-made shoe manufacturer in China. Its headquarter covers an area of 1,700 square meters and has a Qing Dynasty style layout.
