, turn east at the traffic lights atNiulanshanTown, and drive ahead.Its full name is ‘Niulanshan Brewery of Beijing Shunxin Agriculture Co. Ltd’. It was founded in Oct. 1952 by merging 11 distilleries, including Baoshengquan, Fushuncheng and Hongli under the system of joint state-private ownership. Brewing of liquor in Niulanshan dates back to distilleries set up three hundred years ago, in the years between the late Ming Dynasty and the early Qing Dynasty.
Today the brewery is staffed by over 1,800 workers. It covers an area of 139,000 square meters, with a green space of 23,000 square meters. With a total investment of 510 million yuan, it is one of the few companies inBeijingcapable of producing over 50,000 tons of white spirits. It makes over 120 types (which fall into three categories) of liquor, represented by the delicate-fragrance Niulanshan erguotou and the thick-fragrance Century Niulanshan. The products sell well all overChina, and are exported toSouth Korea,Malaysia,Hong Kong,Canada,America, etc.
The brewery has gained certification of HACCP, Green Food, ISO9001, 9002 and 2000 for quality control, and ISO 9002 for quality of import or export products. It has been listed among ‘geographical indication products’, and awarded the title ‘Famous Brand of China’.
In the brewery, the ‘Niulanshan liquor culture’ square, the quality liquor brewing workshop, the white spirit filling line, bulk liquor storage, brewing workshop, the brick mural showing ancient Chinese liquor culture, and the hall showing the history of the brewery are all connected to form a complete sightseeing route. Visitors may learn about the age-old Chinese liquor culture, ancient brewing techniques, the present condition of the company, and its bright future.
