The award ceremony for the literature competition titled Argentina: tan lejos, tan cerca or Argentina: so far, so near took place at the Argentine Embassy in Beijing on November 21. The activity was organized in collaboration with the Argentine Embassy in Beijing, the Institute of Latin American Studies at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Winshare Publishing & Media Co., Ltd, and the Latin American Institute of Sichuan University. The competition was open to the public, and the pieces that best reflected the connections between Argentina and the writers were selected. The Minister of the Argentine Embassy Juan Manuel Cortelletti welcomed the audience and read a letter from the Argentine Ambassador to China Diego Ramiro Guelar who was in Argentina and unable to attend. A Chinese girl named Li Yuqi won first prize. The deputy director of the Foreign Affairs Office of Sichuan Province, Zhang Yechu, also gave a speech. Cortelletti presented awards to the winning writers who included an 82- and a 10-year-old writer.
