The Olympic Rings had been settled on the top of the Beijing Olympic Tower on May 28. Beijing became the second city in the world which can install Olympic Rings privately and permanently. After its completion, the height tower turn to 264.8 meters from 246.8 meters high.

Located at the north side of the axle wire, the Olympic Tower is on the northeastern part of the Olympic Green. The tower is a combination of 5 independent towers from 186 meters high to 264.8 meters high. The building area is about 18,687 square meters. The top of the tower is 5,257 square meters and the base of the tower is 13,430 square meters.

The top of the tower served as a platform both for sightseeing and environment monitoring.

The Olympic Tower was once called “Tree of Life”, and it has nothing to do with the Olympic Games until its was nearly completed. The builders always want to named the tower with Olympic but it did not applied until the president of the Olympic Committee Bach agreed on August last year.
