The Beijing Jingdu Children's Hospital, located in Changping district, opened on June 1. It is Beijing's third largest hospital exclusively for children.

The Legal Mirror reported that although the hospital is private, the cost of treating common children's diseases, is on par with the city's two public children's hospitals - Beijing Children's Hospital and the Capital Institute of Pediatrics. The new hospital specializes in treating serious conditions such as blood cancer and lymph-gland tumors.

In the near future, treatment at the hospital will be covered by Beijing's health insurance system.
