Beijing Love Story is very popular with Chinese citizens today. It is a TV series which has followed many American counterparts in making the jump to the big screen as a film. This movie version includes scenes shot in Santorini and Athens.

The film will be released in 300 cities in the People's Republic of China in July 2014, pushed back from February 2014, and should assure a rush of upscale Chinese travelers to Greece in 2014 and 2015. In addition to the usual listing of cast and crew, the film credits and promotions will include the Greek National Tourism Organization emblems and information. Production stills show the fashionably-dressed performers perched on picturesque balconies looking out over the caldera of Santorini.

The series recounts the romantic adventures and problems of three couples in Beijing. What brings some of them all the way to Greece has not been revealed yet, but given the plot lines, it's likely to include romance and, judging by one still photo image, probably even a wedding and/or honeymoon on the famous island.
