Over 600 Pieces of Artworks to Be Exhibited in the Water Cube

2013-11-13

The 3rd Art Water Cube Cup - International Painting & Calligraphy Exhibition and the Art Exhibition of Works from China National Academy of Painting will be held at the National Aquatics Center (Water Cube) from Dec. 3 through 13. Themed "Freehand Brushwork in traditional Chinese painting", the exhibition has collected more than 600 influential artworks created by famous artists from institutions like the China National Academy of Painting. These works, covering oil painting, print, calligraphy, and traditional Chinese painting, will all be displayed within the 3,000 sqm hall.

The China National Academy of Painting as the official organ to introduce art research in China, is committed to leading the development of China's and the world's art. With strong academic support from the China National Academy of Painting and platform support from the Water Cube, the exhibition is sure to contribute a lot to publicizing China's excellent culture and art works.

Just as Yang Xiaoyang, Dean of the China National Academy of Painting, has said, the Water Cube as an international landmark can serve as a good platform to display the latest and best creations in China. This art carnival will bring out the 'Chinese Style', and 'Chinese Standard' which highlight the strong power of the 'Chinese Spirit'. Grace and sublime are the pursuits of art and sports activities. The Water Cube is the epitome of Chinese cultural tradition and Olympic spirit, which feature continuous growth in self-discipline and social commitment, as well as peace, friendship, and unity separately, and this is the reason why we choose it as the venue.
