4. Prince Kung's Mansion

"One Prince Kung's Mansion is half of the history of the Qing Dynasty". Located in the northwest corner of Shichahai, Prince Kung's Mansion was built at the end of the 18th century and is the best preserved royal palace of the Qing Dynasty in Beijing, as well as the largest royal palace of the Qing Dynasty. It combines centralized gardens, Western-style gardens, Jiangnan garden layout and northern architectural style. The various architectural styles blend together here and reflect each other. There are rockeries, elegant pavilions and winding paths. The Western Gate in the garden, the monument with the character "Fu (Fortune)" in the imperial script and the indoor Grand Opera House are known as the "Three Greatest Things" of Prince Kung's Mansion.
