The same scene from "The Age of Awakening"

The thematic exhibition focuses on some of the early founders of the CPC, such as Li Dazhao, Chen Duxiu and Mao Zedong, showcasing the glorious history of revolutionary activities in Beijing during the founding of the CPC. There are also scenes from the popular TV series "The Age of Awakening".

Kang Mu Yi Zhai was formerly a dormitory of Peking University, and later a research room for Li Dazhao and others to study Marxism. The former site of the editorial office of New Youth is the former residence of Chen Duxiu, and also the place where he founded the magazine New Youth. In 1918, Mao Zedong served as the library secretary in the Second Reading Room, managing 15+ Chinese and foreign language newspapers. In 1920, Li Dazhao and Lu Xun had taught students in the Big Classroom.

Multiple Media

The exhibition uses a variety of media, including holographic projections, various textual expressions, and large picture paintings, which are very appropriate to the theme. There are a lot of vivid and interesting pictures in the exhibition hall, and even life-like models of people are available. There are staff on hand to prompt you to follow the order of the rooms, and the timeline of history is rolling before your eyes.

The square grand staircase is the highlight of the red house architecture. Standing on the top floor and looking down, the handrails overlap in a circle towards the center. The staircase is a deep red wooden tone, making people feel like they are in a castle. The top floor has a height of about 6 meters with round-arched windows, where Chinese architecture and Western style collide to harmonize. The red double doors on the second floor have a vintage feel. At the end of the corridor on each floor, there are several benches. So when you are tired of shopping, just sit down and laze around.

Red House Souvenir Shop

After seeing the exhibition, why not come to the souvenir shop? It's full of inexpensive and interesting trinkets, including popsicles, clothes, stickers and more. There is also a stamp collecting activity that is popular among collectors.
