Chaoyang Park is a comprehensive and multi-functional large-scale cultural, leisure, sports and entertainment park focusing on landscaping. It is a national AAAA tourist attraction, a key park and a boutique park in Beijing. It is the largest urban park within the Fourth Ring Road of Beijing. Chaoyang Park is located in the prosperous area in the middle of Chaoyang District. It extends to Liangmaqiao Road in the north, Chaoyang Park Road in the west, East Fourth Ring Road in the east and Chaoyang Park South Road in the south. The total planned area is 288.7 hectares, including 68.2 hectares of water surface area and 87% of green coverage.
In December 1999, Comrade Jiang Zemin personally inscribed the name of Chaoyang Park. Central-leading comrades came to Chaoyang Park three times in 1992, 1996 and 2004 to participate in national voluntary tree-planting activities. The beach volleyball competition of the 29th Beijing Olympic Games in 2008 was held in Chaoyang Park. The beach theme park was built in 2009, which has become a model for the post-competition utilization of Beijing Olympic venues.
Chaoyang Park has built more than 30 scenic spots, such as planting trees, the source of life, the art square, the lying dragon and waters, spring garden and so on. It has built a brave world amusement park, tennis center, badminton hall, Sony dream exploration, Lego town and other sports, culture and entertainment projects.
In July 2006, Chaoyang Park was awarded "Chaoyang Park International Cultural Exhibition and Performance Gathering Area" by Chaoyang District, forming three international fashion and cultural brand activities of "Spring Festival Chaoyang International Style Festival", "May Day Chaoyang Pop Music Week" and "October Holiday Chaoyang International Tourism and Culture Festival". The "Ocean beach Carnival" was rated as an excellent cultural activity in Beijing.
The construction of Chaoyang Park has played an essential role in improving the ecological environment and enriching the cultural life of citizens in the eastern part of Beijing.
