Recently, the awarding elements of the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics and Winter Paralympics have been officially released. In order to practice the concept of frugality and sustainability, the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic and Winter Paralympic Games use handmade velvet bouquets as the award bouquets.

The reporter learned from the Beijing Disabled Persons' Federation that the award bouquets for the Beijing 2022 Winter Paralympics are from the hands of more than 150 disabled friends at the Beijing Hope House for People with Spinal Cord Injuries. There are 500 award bouquets containing 79,474 petals and 12,560 leaves, with a total of more than 6.38 million pints.
On January 7, the reporter went into the bouquet knitting site to get a glimpse of the novel, unique, beautiful and never-wilting velvet bouquet.
The Winter Olympic Awards bouquet includes six types of flowers with beautiful meanings: rose, Chinese rose, lily of the valley, hydrangea, laurel and olive, symbolizing friendship, resilience, happiness, unity, victory and peace respectively. A blue cosmos, symbolizing strength, is added to the Winter Paralympic Games award bouquet. The bow ribbon on the handle of the bouquet is printed with the word "BEIJING2022". The bouquet overall is fresh and natural, in line with the main colors of the Beijing Winter Olympics, highlighting the distinctive characteristics of ice and snow sports.
After being recommended by China Disabled Persons' Welfare Foundation and Beijing Disabled Persons' Federation, " Hope House" won the approval of Beijing Winter Olympic Organizing Committee by virtue of the knitting skills of the disabled people in its cultural and creative studio, and finally participated in the production of the award bouquet for the Beijing 2022 Winter Paralympic Games. During the two-month production period, more than 150 disabled people from 10 urban areas in Beijing participated in the training of the "Hai Style Velvet Knitting Technique" and devoted themselves to the production of the bouquet.
