Yanqing District is located in the northwest of Beijing. Surrounded by mountains on three sides and water on one side, it has an excellent ecological environment and is an important ecological barrier in the northwest of the capital. With an average altitude of 500 meters above sea level, it is cold in winter and cool in summer, and is known as the " summer capital " of Beijing.

Yanqing District has a long history and is rich in tourism resources, such as the famous Badaling Great Wall, the Yeya Lake Wetland Park, Longqing Gorge, the Hundred Mile Landscape Gallery, the Badaling Safari Park, the Beijing International Horticultural Expo and so on.

Badaling Great Wall is called "one of the Eight Wonders of the World". It is the essence of the Great Wall of China, and is unique among the Ming Great Wall. Because of its precipitous terrain, this section of the Great Wall was an important military pass during the Ming Dynasty and an important barrier to the capital city of Beijing.

Hundred Mile Landscape Gallery is located in the White River and Black River basin. The air is rich in negative oxygen ions, with an average annual temperature of 8°C and an average annual precipitation of 477 mm, which is a perfect summer resort and green oxygen bar. The scenic area has 6 major scenic spots such as Silicified Wood Group, Wulong Canyon, Dripping Kettle, Chaoyang Temple, Dragon King Temple and Guandi Temple.

Beijing Longqing Gorge World Geological Park is located 10 kilometers northeast of Yanqing County. It is a place of marine sedimentary strata and sedimentary tectonic relics from 1.85 to 800 million years ago, with typical northern karst landforms of the Cenozoic era since 40 million years ago. Longqing Gorge has a karst landscape similar to that of Guilin and is known as the "little Lijiang River" in Beijing! Longqing Gorge also holds an annual ice lantern festival.
