Zhoukoudian Site Museum

The new Hall of Zhoukoudian Site Museum was built in 2014, which is the third generation museum. From 300 square meters to 1,000 square meters to 8,000 square meters now, it is a clear proof that the protection work of the site is getting better and better.

The first exhibition hall mainly introduces the discovery and excavation history of the Zhoukoudian site, including the restoration model of the "Beijing human skull." The second exhibition hall mainly introduces the production, life, and environment during the "Peking Man" period. Here, the life scenes of the "Peking Man" period are restored, showing the natural environment, production, and living activities of the area 300,000-700,000 years ago. The third exhibition hall introduces the site of the fossils of early Homo sapiens and late Homo sapiens and reproduces the production and lifestyle of the Upper Cave Man.
