Nanhaizi Park was the royal hunting ground. The emperor would come here to hunt and relax. In the Ming Dynasty, it was one of the ten scenic spots in Yanjing. Because of lacking management and development, it later gradually fell into ruins and then a suburb. The local government was not content with this situation. In order to change the case, they spent over 10 years and invested over 24 billion yuan, and finally rebuilt it into a natural ecological park, which is the scenic spot now.

The elk has a history of more than 3 million years. It is a primitive animal. In the past, there were many elks distributed in a large area of China. By the end of the Qing Dynasty, elks decreased sharply, and now it is very rare and precious. Later, in order to protect them, a special breeding area was built for them in Nanhaizi Elk Park, where elks have been living.

Now many people come to the lakeside of the park for a walk. It's cool and cozy. The waves ripple and sparkle, and there are many birds living and breeding by the lake.
