Beijing Daxing International Airport is a "major international hub airport" that was mentioned on the "First Beijing Netizen Scene." The site is in Beijing Daxing District, Yuda Town, Lixian Town, and Langfang City, Hebei Province, between Guangyang District, approximately 46 kilometers from Tiananmen, 55 kilometers from Xiongan New Area, 54 kilometers from Beijing's urban sub-center, approximately 67 kilometers from the capital airport, and approximately 26 kilometers from Langfang City. Long-term plans call for an annual passenger throughput of more than 100 million passengers, a cargo and postal throughput of 4 million tons, and 880,000 aircraft movements.

The world's largest single terminal building

The Beijing Daxing Airport International Terminal, with a roof projection area equivalent to 25 soccer fields, is the world's largest single terminal building, covering an area of 1.4 million square meters, equivalent to the size of 63 Tiananmen Square. The dome is made of 63,400 welded steel structures with a total weight of 55,000 tons, which is roughly half the steel used in the National Stadium.

The most difficult terminal building to construct

It's also the world's most complex terminal to build, with the dome "supporting the world's largest roof area with only eight C-shaped columns." While providing maximum public space for passengers, it was constructed using 12,800 pieces of wholly distinct glass, making it the most complex to create in the world and unmatched in terms of scale and difficulty in airport construction history.

No two pieces of glass out of 8000 are the same

The "great skeleton" of Beijing Daxing International Airport's "phoenix wings" is made up of 12,300 spherical nodes and over 60,000 poles. In total, 12,800 pieces of glass were utilized in the terminal, including almost 8,000 pieces for the roof. With so many steels mesh frames and glass block available, no two rods or pieces of glass may have the identical specs.

It can resist an 8-magnitude earthquake

The layer spacing seismic technology is employed to ensure the airport's safety. This is the first technology of its sort in China. The layer interval seismic technology is used to install seismic isolation bearings beneath the terminal building's first floor slab, which totally separates the terminal building's first floor from the first floor and does not influence the use of the underground layer.

Humanized design only takes 8 minutes to board

The airport is centered on the main terminal building and is made up of three 411-meter-long finger corridors, southeast, south-central, and southwest, and two 298-meter-long finger corridors, northeast and northwest. They are dispersed in all directions, with the main terminal structure serving as the focal point. The distance from the terminal's center to each gate is optimized to the greatest extent possible, in conjunction with the upper and lower double-decker platforms. Passengers can walk no more than 600 meters from the main terminal to any gate, and the time required is no more than 8 minutes.

Beautiful Chinese style courtyard lounge area

There are five Chinese-style outdoor courtyards at the end of the terminal's five finger corridors - the Chinese Garden, the Porcelain Garden, the Field Garden, the Silk Garden, and the Tea Garden - that blend indoor and outdoor spaces and provide a relaxing waiting environment and activity space for passengers. Among the five gardens, the Chinese Garden is the only one with buildings. Octagonal pavilions, hexagonal pavilions, open halls, pavilions, corridors, hall blocks, hipped roofs, hard hill roofs, and overhanging hill roofs...... This section covers practically all of the characteristics of traditional Chinese ancient architecture.

Dedicated "Friends and Family Farewell Area"

Normally, family members and passengers must separate at the security checkpoint, but the unique design of the commercial area on the fifth floor of Daxing International Airport includes a special "family and friends farewell area," allowing passengers to look back and say goodbye to their families in the lobby after the security checkpoint, and family members to see their relative.

Daxing International Airport will not only have a stunning and beautiful look; a number of world-record black technology; and cannot be more intimate human services; but its operation will fundamentally transform the aviation pattern of Beijing and even the entire Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.
