Beijing Guozijian, which can be translated into Imperial College or Imperial Academy, was established in 1306 and served as the supreme administration for the organization of education during the Yuan, Ming, and Qing Dynasties. Emperors in imperial China would also frequently visit to Guozijian to read Confucian classics to thousands of students. To the east of the Guozijian, there lies the Confucius Temple, the second largest Confucius temple in China, and the Yonghegong Temple, which is the largest Lama Temple in Beijing. At present, Guozijian aims to cultivate talents and promote cultural exchange.
