Early June is the harvesting season for cherry. The 1200 mu (about 198 acres) cherries planted in Hot Spring Town include Zaodaguo, Big Purple, Red Lantern, Hongyan, Red Sweet, etc., which are large, good in taste and high in quality, with a perfect combination of sweet and sour. All cherries have been certified pollution-free, so you can feel assured when eating them. On the green cherry trees, the glittering "red agate" swayed in the wind. Being in it is really “when the wind curls in front of the oblique sun court, red beads can be found in thousands of oily green leaves”.

Baijiatuan Village Tourist Cherry Picking Orchard is one of the earlier tourist picking orchards established in Haidian District, covering an area of 400 mu (about 66 acres). The trees in the orchard are tall and diverse, most of which are more than ten years old, and the yield of cherry trees in their fruit-bearing period is more than 50 kg.

Deep in the orchard, cherry saplings are neatly arranged, with their leaves fresh and green and full of vitality. The Baijiatuan Village Tourist Picking Orchard has introduced three new varieties in the recent years, i.e. Brooks, Russia No. 8 and Yi Zaohong. Brooks, which is storage- and transportation-friendly, can maintain its flavour for more than 30 days in an environment of 0 ~ 5℃. The long-term preservation will prolong the sales time relatively, alleviating the sense of urgency that the “time limit” of fresh fruit quality brings to the picking orchard. The Russian No. 8 cherry from Russia is not only good in taste and abundant in yield, but also extremely chill proof. Young trees of Yizaohong cherry grow fast, and are resistant of drought, barren, disease, insect, humidity, cold, salt and so on.

Its fruit is beautiful in colour and sweet in flavour. As an excellent variety of early maturity, it is suitable for the management structure of the picking orchard.Since 2016, through two successive projects, Baijiatuan Village has carried out a multi-directional transformation of the picking orchard in the Xihetan area, which has improved the convenience of picking and improved the sense of leisure experience. In addition, there are many picking orchards in Hot Spring Town, such as Hot Spring Village Sightseeing and Picking Orchard, and Yangjiazhuang Sightseeing and Picking Orchard.
