Zhongshuge

Zhongshuge is called “the most beautiful bookstore in China”. There’s always a line of a few dozens meters everyday before it opens.

It is an ocean of books, where books can be seen everywhere, even on the ceiling. Even the staircase is surrounded by bookshelves.

There is a Café on the second floor, where you can enjoy a moment of peace drinking a cup of coffee or tea.

Chunfengxixi

Chunfengxixi is a 80㎡ bookstorehiding within the crowded 2nd Ring.

The rustling of pages is the only sound in the comfortable and quiet bookstore, by which you can clearly feel the flow of time. Over 400 kinds of magazines, both at home and broad, are available in the place, including design, aesthetics, architecture and photograph.

Chunfengxixi is a Japanese style bookstore with plants, rivers, pavilions, old houses and streets outside. Reading in a place like this gives one just the feeling of being surrounded by tender spring breeze, like its name.

Model Bookstore Plus Poem Space

Walking into the Exemplar Book Bureau Shikongjian, one would feel like traveling back to the 20th Century.

The place used be China Episcopal Church, whose details reveal its charm with splendid interior decorating, towering dome, western glass window, antique wooden floor and bookshelves on both sides of the hall.

The baptismal pool is now replaced by a stage for book club. The bookstore is mixture of both Chinese and western elements with antiques from Republic of China and modern decorations.

Zhengyang Book Bureau

Zhengyang Book Bureau is in Zhuanta Hutong with collections about old Beijing.

It has around 70,000 kinds of books and photographs, maps, all telling stories about legends of this city.

Pagoda of Monk Wansong stands in the back of the yard behind the bookstore , it was the only brick tower in urban Beijing built in Yuan Dynasty in memory of a senior monk named Wansong Xingxiu.

Accompanied by the tower and surrounded by the yard, one would be immersed in elements of antiquity and the fragrance of yellowish books.

It's a place you shouldn't miss for both chatting and dreaming about future.

Pageone is a Baroque style bookstore with a ceiling looking like starry sky and high walls of books on both sides under the dark light.

Looking through the French window on the second flow stands Zhengyang Gate, a landmark on the central axis of Beijing.

The high enclosing walls on the first floor bring strong visual impact as books look like hanging in the air.

Books for readers from babies to teenagers can be found on the second floor.
