Beijing Museum of Nature History -"Blessings of the Tiger" Exhibition

2022-02-05

The tiger is a large carnivorous feline that originated in Asia. It is a powerful, agile and fierce animal that ranks at the top of the food chain and is known as the "King of Animals". As early as a million years ago, the tiger has existed with the Chinese ancestors. In traditional Chinese culture, the tiger has been regarded as a symbol of courage, strength and wealth, as well as a protective god to help eliminate evil. Humans have given the tiger the qualities of "courage" and "majesty", so they respect and love the tiger. The tiger is included in the "12 Chinese Zodiac" and is applied to many aspects of life.

On January 27, 2022, sponsored by the State Administration of Cultural Heritage, China Heritage News and the Beijing Museum of Nature History and a number of provincial and municipal museums jointly launched the "Blessings of the Tiger - the Year of the Tiger Chinese Zodiac Relics Photo Exhibition" in the temporary exhibition hall on the first floor of the exhibition building of the Beijing Museum of Nature History.

This exhibition provides a detailed and comprehensive introduction to tigers in the natural world, tigers in history and culture, and tigers in folk life. In addition to the exhibition panels, you can also see many life-like tiger specimens in the museum.

The exhibition is on display from January 27, 2022 to February 27, 2022. Admission is free by appointment.
